Michael O’Neill, Northern Ireland’s senior international manager, has named a 27-man squad for the next UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying matches in Estonia and Belarus. Sports enthusiasts from around the world can purchase Northern Ireland Euro Cup Tickets online to enjoy its stunning performances.
Northern Ireland, first in Group C, will play next month’s matches in Tallinn and Borisov with six points in their first two games and aim for another maximum comeback after the second double of the campaign.
Oxford United midfielder Mark Sykes is in the under 21 group thanks to a strong performance by Ian Baraclough’s team following his transfer from Glenavon in January. Sykes, 21, along with teammate Gavin Whyte, was part of two training teams in Northern Ireland that were put to the test in the last two weeks in Manchester.
Defender Daniel Ballard, 19, who recently signed a contract extension with Arsenal, a member of the Premier League, retains his place after serving on the match panel in March.
There is also a comeback for Heart of Midlothian defenseman Michael Smith, who was out last time because of an injury. And despite the short time allocated to their clubs, experienced defensemen Aaron Hughes (Hearts) and Gareth McAuley (Glasgow Rangers) are also named in the panel.
Midfielders Oliver Norwood (Sheffield United) and Niall McGinn (Aberdeen) both recovering from their operations and are not included. Sunderland striker Will Grigg is not a part of the squard.
And for Motherwell goalkeeper Trevor Carson, who recently got the go-ahead to resume training after a long recovery from deep vein thrombosis, the matches are coming too soon.
The Northern Ireland squad for the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers will travel to Estonia (June 8) and Belarus (June 11)
