The result means that Cymru can now qualify directly for the finals of Euro 2020 next summer if they beat Hungary on Tuesday (19 November) and Slovakia drop points against either Croatia or Azerbaijan. 

In Baku, Welsh team was settled after 10 minutes when Joe Morrell’s 25-yard strike forced Azerbaijan goalkeeper Emil Balayev into a fine save to direct the ball behind for a corner.  

From that corner, Harry Wilson sent the ball to the back post where it was met by the head of Kieffer Moore, who scored his 2nd Cymru goal on his 4th appearance. 

A comfortable and confident Cymru doubled their lead on 34 minutes in Euro 2020 qualifier match when a rolling drive from Dan James hit the underneath of the crossbar before striking the post and make a comeback for Wilson to easily dome into an empty net.
